A little taste of home!

Today, due to the previous rain and current misty weather we weren't able to go to our planned school so instead we re-visited the school we went to on Monday.

The dreary weather persisted as we boarded the bus and not to our great surprise there weren't many children there. We started off with some games outside (enduring the rain) and before long more children had heard us and turned up smiling.

We used the school classrooms for the reading and activities, making monkey faces and elephant masks. Lucy, (big lucy) lead a rather comical elephant song/ game where you hold the next persons hand between their legs and wiggle in a circle: which the children loved.  

Amid our craft some unexpected visitors came from The Netherlands on their private jet; thinking that 8 yoyo's and a few pencils would mean they'd made a difference to the children...they didn't stay long... 

In the afternoon Kate, Helen, Chante, Frankie and Kirsty went shopping while the rest of us had lunch and 'Buttons the dog stole our biscuits' aka.. We ate them all!

Later we who weren't shopping visited the community centre where we played and sang with the children and some of us attended their bible study where we studied the church and holy communion. When we got back sorted out craft bags and drew about another 300 butterflies!

As a treat we had burgers and rice salad for dinner. Me; Eleana, Lottie and Helen cooked with myself frying burgers and Helen trying to separate the very sticky meat. Lottie was put in charge of counting the amount of cups of rice put on the boil, but as only Lottie could, she lost count and ended up cooking way too much! We had over half a large pot of rice left over after dinner!!!!! Rice pudding anyone?

The evening was spent in a relaxed atmosphere with much singing and a treasure and trash with lots of laughter. We ate inside which made everything much cosier ready for bed in time for an early start...almost a week gone! Just big kids tomorrow... :)
